Integration stages

01Integration of UDP volumetric attack protection module

At this stage the following actions are performed:

  • Hardware deployment and software configuration at the partner’s site
  • Creating an OpenVPN tunnel between Kaspersky DDoS Protection and the partner’s site
  • Selecting a range of IP addresses for protection
  • Establishing a BGP session between the partner site and the router of the protected network
  • Configuring the Kaspersky DDoS Protection system using the web interface

02Integration of protection module against attacks at L3/L4 layers

The implementation plan for this phase consists of the following actions:

  • Hardware deployment and software configuration at the partner’s site
  • Selecting the method of traffic redirection
  • Establishing a BGP session between Scrubbing Centers and the router of the protected network

03Integration of protection module against attacks at L7 layer

At this stage the following actions are performed:

  • Selecting the web servers for which L7 layer protection is required
  • Transmitting the web access log to Sensor
  • Configuring the software on Sensor to work with the web access logs
  • Evaluating the results of the protection using the web interface

04Full integration

This stage is not mandatory, and the following vectors for further development of the solution are proposed:

  • Building a separate Kaspersky DDoS Protection infrastructure to reduce decision-making time
  • Deploying a reverse proxying cluster at the partner’s site to analyze TLS sessions as an alternative to the web access log, which allows to reduce detection time and use WAF technology
  • Adding protection for other protocols at the L7 layer
